How do I use CNAME records?

TOP

CNAME records, or "canonical name" records, allow you to have an unlimited number of aliases for a domain. An example of when you may want to use a CNAME is if you want a subdomain pointed to a machine outside of your domain. This is useful so that if the IP address of the alias changes, you would not be required to update the resource record.

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on any domain from the "Select domain" drop down menu.
  3. Select the "root" host name and enter an answer in the form on the left column. Click "Save."
  4. Next, select the host name "www" and create a CNAME resource record that points back to your root zone.
  5. Create resource records for each country you wish to set traffic rules.
  6. Create a global record for other locations in the world by either not setting a location, or select the country group "Everything Else."

Can I have multiple users access my domains?
